Tiger Turf Arena

The Tiger Turf Arena Gateway is Africa’s first ever rooftop sporting arena and the home of 6 a side soccer in KZN.
 
Located on the rooftop of Gateway Theatre of Shopping the Tiger Turf Arena is a multi-faceted sporting arena designed to serve all communities within our society offering social, league and corporate participation.  We also offer professional soccer participation through the Showbol 6 a side structure - this is the home of the KwaZulu Natal Showbol franchise. SA Soccer Legends and Showbol use the venue for coaching development projects.

News Flash:

The KZN Showbol team played a friendly match against African Wanderers on the 14^th August and came out on top, this is in preparation for the Showbol Pro Series launch Tournament which talks place at the Coca Cola Dome in JHB on the 22^nd October 2010. We will keep you updated on all NEWS regarding trials and events relating to Showbol as we want KZN to have a championship winning team for this series. Showbol will offer you the opportunity to represent KwaZulu Natal and compete against the best players in South Africa!

The facility offers:

3 X World Class Synthetic Turf pitches (size per field: 42meter by 21 meter),

Clubhouse with bar & restaurant facilities,

DSTV facilities to watch live sport,

Men’s & ladies change rooms with showers & toilets.

Situated in a safe environment with plenty of secure parking, the facility is managed by qualified sport staff and games are officiated by experienced referees. It is our objective to ensure that your sport event, whether you participate socially or competitively in leagues or corporate team building events or birthday parties, will be the ultimate sport experience! We cater for kids, ladies, families, professionals – EVERYONE!

League Rates & Social play:

1. Social play: R400 per field per hour or R50 p/player p/hour.
2. Leagues:  R300 per team per match
3. Corporate teambuilding events and birthday parties: please refer to information tabs on home page.
4. Tournaments and Winna keeps the field: will be advertised on web site and in the media.

Reservations: Bookings will be reserved for 12 hours only, if payment is not received within this period the booking will be released. Rules: Our 6 a side rules of play are governed by the International 6 a side Showbol Rules, these rules are available on the rules and regulations soccer tab on home page.

·         We have experienced referees for league games who have been trained by Showbol Africa. Please respect them and you will enjoy a great game of soccer. Players who are aggressive and abusive will be warned and if required barred from the venue. No foul play or verbal abuse will be tolerated. Teams that do not pitch up for games will be fined and if required expelled from the league.

·         No alcohol is allowed to be brought onto the premises, we have a bar facility available.

·         Play in normal soccer boots, indoor boots or gym shoes, no metal studs.

·         No food is allowed to be brought onto the premises, we have a kitchen / restaurant that sells pizzas, burgers, braai packs etc. No glasses or glass bottles allowed.

·         No high heels or shoes that may cause damage to the turf.

·         No smoking.

1: Cannot be held responsible for any loss, death or damage which may occur when any person participates at the Tiger Turf Arena Gateway.

2: Cannot be held responsible for any loss, death or damage to any person who is in the vicinity of the arena which may result from any form of event / action that has occurred at the arena.

First aid: We have a basic medical first aid kit and stretcher available on site. If required we will call a medic or ambulance from the Umhlanga Hospital, situated across the road from Gateway. Note that you participate at the venue at your own risk.
